Episode 8: Great American Beer Fest with John Legnard of Blue Moon, Beverly Armstrong of Brazo Fuerte
This week features my first interviews from the Great American Beer Festival!
I spoke with Blue Moon Brewmaster John Legnard about how a brewery this big began in the corner of a ballpark and now has 24 unique beers on tap in their shiny new RiNo taproom. He talked about the Want Ad that began his career at Blue Moon, the path he was on alllll the way up until college, and helping judge this year’s 7,227 GABF entries! (1:00ish)
Editor’s note: The photo tour of Blue Moon was expanded and made into its own post.
Beverly Armstrong of Brazo Fuerte Artisanal Beers might have a small operation now, but you can bet that will change now that she was awarded this year’s experienceship from Boston Beer. I sat down with her and got the lowdown on the sport that launched her beer-making venture, the process by which she earned her experienceship, and the meaning behind Brazo Fuerte … which is really obvious, but I missed it anyway. (19:00ish)
