Episode 26: Lydia Punch, Bent Paddle Brewing, America’s First Hard Coffee

This week’s episode was recorded at Republic Seven Corners upstairs, and the soon-to-be-opened Bar Brigade!

Twin Cities Restaurateur Matty O’Reilly gave me the down and dirty on his upcoming restaurant opening (which is a secret!) and his newest project: Bad Larry’s, the nation’s first hard coffee! (Intro)

At Republic, former Minnesota Rollergirl Lydia Punch hung up the skates after this last season. She was one of two remaining skaters who’d been in the league since the very first season! She looked back on her 13-year career, and why it might not be over. (20:14)

Sarah Meyer of Duluth’s Bent Paddle Brewing Company – who’ll be joining our team on the side as well as a rotating co-host – caught me up on BP (the good BP) happenings. We also discussed bomber pricing, truckjacking, and the curious case of Goose Island superfans/haters. (32:53)
