Episode 34: ‘Ren and Stimpy’ Co-Creator Bob Camp; Ben Quam and Austin Myhran of 612Brew

This week, I recorded at 612Brew in Northeast Minneapolis! Their Hidden Beach IPA is making its way across the Twin Cities. I had a couple (a few) and sat down with head brewer Austin Myhran. Myhran explained Cryo-hops, and how the brewers and the ownership come together to make decisions on beer. He talked about his brewing origins, and briefly compared the craft beer scenes from his viewpoint having worked in Chicago and the Twin Cities.

Ben Quam has been a fixture of Twin Cities nightlife for about 20 years. He told me about his decision to leave the nightclub scene behind and take his new post as a sales director at 612 Brew. I interviewed Ben right around the one-year anniversary of Prince’s death, and we talked about that a little.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with cartoonist/Ren and Stimpy co-creator Bob Camp! Bob has been in the business for well over 30 years. He gave me a brief oral history of Ren and Stimpy, spoke for a few minutes on the changes he’s seen in entertainment, and gave his thoughts on the business today.
